The Data Team at Cloudwalk is committed to building a data-driven ecosystem where data is a first-class entity. Ranging from preparing datasets for BI and ML algorithms to optimizing database performance and creating reusable data frameworks, we oversee a vast array of responsibilities and skills. We are seeking a candidate with substantial experience in designing, optimizing, and migrating databases, along with a passion for the endless possibilities that data architecture can bring.
* Work closely with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Backend Engineering teams to ensure seamless data operations
* Design, develop, optimize, and migrate high-performance database systems
* Provide High Availability (HA) solutions, manage read/write replicas, and ensure database resilience
* Implement and manage ETL, Orchestration and CI/CD pipelines
* Ensure proper database governance, perform access controls, and manage data security on the cloud
* Design, optimize, and manage relational databases, with an emphasis on PostgreSQL
* Plan and execute database migration, e.g., from CloudSQL to AlloyDB
* Support the basics of infrastructure like networking, proxy, etc.
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Maths, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or related industry experience.
* Experience in Database Administration and strong understanding of Database Architecture
* Expertise in design, optimization, and migration of databases
* Experience in providing High Availability (HA) solutions, managing read/write replicas, logical replication
* Experience with Kafka and NoSQL databases is a plus
* Expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning
* Understanding of data security, access controls, and cloud-based data governance
* Understanding of basic infrastructure including networking, proxy, etc.
* Strong English communication skills to have in-depth technical discussions. (Portuguese not required)
* Experience with Data Warehouse/Data Lake architectures
* Experience with Google Cloud Platform
