In this opportunity, we are seeking a Product Specialist to work with one of our foreign clients, an independent, non-profit global research organization that turns big ideas into action at the nexus of environment, economic opportunity and human well-being. What's unique about this job?

Our Client has an open-source web application that enables near real-time monitoring of global forests. Users can explore hundreds of spatial datasets related to forest change in a dynamic web map, view summary statistics with interactive dashboards, and subscribe to near real-time deforestation and fire alerts for custom areas of interest.

In this role, you will support the operations, design, and development of new premium features, collecting input from stakeholders and users to guide our product development team. You will work with our product development, engagement, and communications teams, manage external vendor(s), keep deliverables on track, and respond to user inquiries and other activities as needed to support the client’s product team. You will scale up the platform and user support operations, support corporate user management, drive communications with organizations across commodity supply chains, and help diagnose and remedy technical application issues. The role combines environmental research, engagement and communications, and product development.

Here are some of the exciting day-to-day challenges you will face in this

role: * **Operations Coordination (45% of time required) ** * Manage the onboarding of new accounts, leveraging Salesforce to maintain contact management and in close coordination with engagement team account leads * Manage and respond to user inquiries and provide platform support, leading the response, diagnosis, fixes, documentation, and communication back to users. * Support Product Manager in the development of key product-related metrics. * Engage in day-to-day interactions with internal development team and external vendors, set priorities, and keep deadlinesAssist in the drafting of RFPs and monitor vendor delivery against the RFP in coordination with the Product Manager * _Product Management and Communications (40% of time required): _ * Prioritize feature requests based on user needs and stakeholder input and track vendor budget and timeline constraints * Support product development at all points in the product lifecycle by assisting with user research, gathering requirements for new features, reviewing designs, testing new development, and supporting efforts to communicate and collect feedback on recently released data and features * Create professional written and visual content, including tutorials, error messages, info bubbles, updated language translations, and user newsletter emails * Administrative (15% of time required): * Respond to incoming inquiries and questions on the application * Work with the Product Team to organize internal meetings, workshops, and other product-related materials

You will shine if you have these:

* Bachelor’s degree preferred 
* 1+ year of experience supporting web or other product development in an agile environment (internships may be counted) 
* High degree of comfort with web technologies, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical colleagues and partners 
* Experience with product/project management tools (JIRA, Github, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Salesforce) 
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand issues from different perspectives, and the confidence to take principled positions or seek help when needed 
* Organized and able to independently keep track of and make progress on multiple projects at a time Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
* Fluency in English 

It doesn’t hurt if you also have:

* Passion for data and technology 
* Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or Bahasa is a plus
