The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing new applications, modules, and features, as well as modifying and maintaining existing applications in response to business and technology needs, under the supervision of the Team Manager. The senior role involves performing leadership roles and fill the spot of the team manager when not available if needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development process: design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Participate in the definition and implementation of the lifecycle of software process and in code reviews
  • Responsible for design, develop, maintain, and implement high-quality, available, and scalable software modules in a given product or complete software components
  • Collaborate within and across groups with little or no supervision in writing functional and design documents, development schedules and user interface documents
  • Identify and suggest solutions to problems of significant scope
  • Support existing systems while making enhancements towards future architecture
  • Choose the best technology for the situation in coordination with the team manager and architect
  • Interact with business units effectively regarding requirements and specifications
  • Work closely with the team manager, and may act as team lead or technical lead for a large portion of a project
  • Work within a scrum team

Essential Requirements

  • 4-7 years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Understand of development best practices and standards (Design Pattern, Clean Architecture, SOLID, etc.)
  • Work with minimal supervision on analysis tasks, and with little or no supervision on development tasks
  • Self-learner with strong problem-solving skills
  • Good SQL and database design skills
  • Solid experience in Git and branching
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of AGILE and SCRUM methodologies
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with development using Python and Django Framework.
  • Experience with development using React or Angular Libraries.
  • Development experience preferred in a Unix environment
  • Exposure to NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Redis, etc)
  • Understanding of Message Queuing Systems (RabbitMQ, Qpid, etc)
  • GitFlow experience
  • Knowledge of basic Linux system administration tasks
